STAR LETTER: Well done Brighstone School

Dear Editor,

How delighted I was to read about Brighstone CofE Primary School’s Christian vision (IW Observer, June 6). It must indeed be the answer to the prayers of so many – not least my own thoughts and prayers.

The school’s daily worship is so heartening, it reminds me of my own schooldays when I was asked to accompany the hymn on the piano at what was then the School of Art – now Ryde Library and Help Centre in George Street.

That stirring Advent hymn ‘Hills of the North Rejoice’ comes to mind.

To encourage pupils to be respectful and responsible towards others, and to care for the world around them, is just what is needed in this day and age. Certainly, the dedication of the staff is to be praised.
