Following the success of last year’s festive competition, Isle of Wight East MP, Joe Robertson, has launched his 2025 Christmas card design competition, inviting primary school children across the constituency to get creative.
Winning entries will be featured on the MP’s digital Christmas cards and website throughout the holiday season.
He announced the competition during a visit to Gatten & Lake Primary School before half term, where he spoke with Year 6 pupils about life as an MP and reunited with two of last year’s winners, Etta and Ted — both pupils at the school.
The competition is open to all primary-aged children who live or attend school in Isle of Wight East. Designs can be created in any medium that can be scanned, such as pencil, felt tip, crayon, or paint. Several winners will be chosen from different age groups.
“After receiving so many fantastic entries last year, I’m looking forward to seeing some fun designs for 2025,” said Joe. “It was fitting to launch the competition at Gatten & Lake, as two of last year’s winning designs came from pupils there. I’m looking for plenty of colour and creativity to capture the spirit and fun of Christmas time.”
Entries must be submitted by November 24, either by post to Joe Robertson MP’s office at Shanklin Conservative Club, 6 Palmerston Road, Shanklin, PO37 6AU, or by email to joe.robertson.mp@parliament.uk. Each entry should include the child’s name, school (if applicable), and year group.
