The 2024 Yarmouth Festival of Sea Songs (YSSF) continued its growing success and raised £6,000 for The Needles Coastwatch (NCI) Station.
Receiving the cheque last week, station manager, Charlotte Raynor, thanked the YSSF for May’s festival, saying: “This fantastic contribution effectively covers about half of our annual running costs for the year, enabling our amazing team of volunteers to concentrate on staffing the station and providing ‘eyes on the sea’, helping to keep our local waters safe for all users.”
Festival chairman, Chris Waddington, thanked all the volunteers from the Needles NCI for their help in supporting the free Festival of Sea Songs by staffing the car park, selling programmes and collecting donations.
The small festival team – all volunteers – would be keen to hear from anyone interested in helping, and contact can be made via the festival Facebook site.
Next year’s festival takes place on May Bank Holiday weekend, May 23-26.
