Sally Army makes sure no-one spends Christmas Day alone

The Isle of Wight branch of the Salvation Army reached out to those spending Christmas Day alone by serving out a generous Christmas Day dinner.

Islanders in need came to the Sally Army’s Island headquarters in Newport for their annual ‘Big Christmas Lunch’.

The lunch was open and free for anyone in need, whether they needed a roof over their heads, something to eat or just a bit of company over Christmas.

After the event, Captain Rodney Bean (the leader of the Salvation Army on the Island, along with his wife Lillian said a big Thank-You’to everyone who came, including volunteers, guests and singers and to those who supported the event to make it a success.
