Island MP asks young people to consider standing for election

MP Bob Seely is asking young people aged 11 to 21, who are interested in current affairs and local government, to consider standing for election to the Island’s Youth Council.

The council, which is non-party political, has an influence on how the authority runs young people’s services and it is elected every two years.

If people want to apply, they can find the application pack and all the details at iwight.com/youthcouncil. Applications close on Friday 15th March.

”This is an important body that is listened to and has influence so if you think you have something to say to the Isle of Wight Council about the opportunities for young people on the Island then please apply,” said Bob.
