Fundraiser for Air Ambulance in memory of Yvonne Copland

A fundraising event will be held on Saturday, September 14 in memory of Yvonne Copland, who tragically lost her life in a traffic accident on Forest Road in April. The event has been organised by her daughters Charlotte Copland and Michelle McMahon.

Writing on Facebook Charlotte explained that her mother was a lover ‘of all thing gin’ so the fundraiser will be held at the home of Isle of Wight Gin, The Mermaid Bar in Pondwell, the former Wishing Well pub. Tickets are £5 and only 150 tickets are available due to the size of the venue. All funds raised will be donated to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Charlotte said: “On the 14th of April, my mum was devastatingly killed as a result of a road traffic collision on Forest Road . She was travelling as a passenger, alongside my brother, brother in law and dad, all of whom were airlifted to mainland hospitals with life threatening injuries.

“At just 64 years of age, my mum’s life was tragically cut short, so in honour of her memory I am organising a fundraiser to raise money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, a charity which for obvious reasons, is very close to my heart. Without the dedication, quick response and incredible care of the Air Ambulance that day, my other family members wouldn’t have survived.”

The Air Ambulance service costs £150,000 a day to provide.
