I want to thank everyone who voted for me. I am proud to begin serving as your new Reform UK councillor for Lake South.
My first week at County Hall has focussed on listening, learning, and understanding how the council works, so I can best support residents and businesses in the ward.
During the campaign, I had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of residents on the doorstep. Those residents shared a wide variety of local concerns with me. While as a councillor I cannot single-handedly guarantee every outcome, I promise to investigate these issues, speak up for you, and explore every solution. Your concerns included families with children who need extra support and care, road and infrastructure problems, and broken public facilities, such as a dilapidated bus shelter.
Residents also had other concerns about costs, including council tax, parking charges, and ferry fares.
As a councillor I cannot single handedly guarantee every outcome, but I do promise to investigate these issues, raise your voices, and explore every solution. Whilst government funding is controlled nationally, residents deserve transparency about how council money is spent, and I want to explore if further savings and better value can be achieved for local taxpayers.
