Brighstone Primary gets new play house!

Hose Rhodes Dickson are no stranger to houses, but one is a little different. Working with the Brighstone School Association, the new playhouse at the Primary School was a surprise to pupils returning from their summer holidays.

The playhouse had been discussed since the previous house was knocked down two years ago to give more space as the school expanded. Through various fundraising by the BSA and a donation from Hose Rhodes Dickson, a local carpenter completed the project in time for the new school year.

Mrs Fox, headteacher, said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to present the pupils with their new playhouse. We will shortly be having the whole garden landscaped too, and I know the children can’t wait to start playing here. We are very grateful to the parents and students who have been busy behind the scenes fundraising, and to Hose Rhodes Dickson for their generous donation.”

Tom Buchanan, manager of the Newport branch of Hose Rhodes Dickson, added, “We are happy to be able to support Brighstone Primary School and get involved in such a fun project for the local community. Of all the houses we are involved in, this has certainly been the most enjoyable!”
