The Castle Inn, Newport, is holding a charity evening on Monday (December 16) to raise funds to help pay for the funeral of a much-loved member of staff who died recently.
Jess Fallick was a keen horsewoman and her friends want to raise enough money to provide horses and a carriage to provide her ‘last ride’ at her funeral, led by her own horse, Farley.
Simon Cant, Tian Hughes and Dave Wiltshire will all have parts of their bodies waxed, from 7pm with a live Facebook stream, with people encouraged to arrive for 6.30pm.
There will be Christmas carols from 7.30pm, and the singers have offered to donate all proceeds raised on the evening to Jess’s fund. Karaoke starts from 9pm, when it is hoped people will perform all of Jess’s favourite songs, including her favourite, Evanescence.
As Inch’s was Jess’s favourite drink, The Castle will donate the sale from a whole barrel of Inch’s straight into Jess’s fund, so the more Inch’s you drink on the night, the more they will add to the pot. They will also donate 20p from every sale on the evening straight into Jess’s fund.
Landlady, Louise Cand, said: “This is going to be a night to remember Jess and all the good times, whilst raising as much money as possible to help her family give her the send off she deserves.”
