The fourth event of the Wight-Tri Summer Splash & Dash Series was the Yaverland Aquabike event on August 9. Fourteen members took the choice of a 200m or 400m swim, followed by either one or two laps (10km or 19.5km) cycle out to Bembridge.
First in the nominated event was Dan Morgan, who completed the long course in 42m 36s, six seconds over his nominated time.
Second was Roy Young, 25 seconds over his short course, nominated time of 29m 30s, with Lucy Doorly third, posting 50m 2s for the long course, 35 secs adrift.
Fastest overall on the long course was also Dan Morgan, closely followed by Rob Johnson in 43m 34s. Lucy Doorly was the fastest female, followed by Claire Squirrel who finished in 51m 28s.
The final event of the season, the Gurnard Aquathlon 2 takes place today (Friday). Meet at 6pm for 6.30pm start, at Gurnard Sailing Club.
