The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair 2024 proved to be a resounding success, attracting more than 7,000 visitors from across the Island at the end of August. The event, now in its 24th year, featured a stunning array of plants, flowers, gardenalia and local produce, with hundreds of exhibitors showcasing their finest work.
Through the generosity of attendees and exhibitors, the committee has been able to donate a total of £30,000 to the IW Foodbank. Smaller amounts have also been distributed to other local charities.
A representative from the Fair Committee thanked everybody who played a part, saying: “On behalf of the entire committee, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and exhibited at this year’s garden fair. The overwhelming support from our visitors and the incredible contributions of our exhibitors have enabled us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.”
An IW Foodbank spokesman said: “It’s truly heart-warming and amazing to be the beneficiary of this brilliant event.
We are so grateful for the generosity of the Wolverton Fair team, the exhibitors and the lovely visitors who attended the fair. Being chosen as the charity for Wolverton is a significant honour, and this money will make such a difference to what we offer the community and will enable us to continue to feed and the support people on the Isle of Wight who find themselves in food crisis.”
The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair will return next year on August 30 and 31.
