Two men sought after 11-year-old ‘inappropriately touched’

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young girl was touched inappropriately by two strangers.  

The incident happened in Snowberry Road, Newport, on August 24 between 4.30pm and 5pm.

The 11-year-old victim ran from two men who made inappropriate comments and touched her on her bottom over her clothing.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Officers in Newport are investigating a suspicious incident on Snowberry Road on Friday (August 24) between 4.30pm and 5pm.

“An 11-year-old girl was inappropriately touched over her clothing on her bottom by two men she did not know who made inappropriate comments to her.

“She was not hurt and ran away.

“Members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been regularly patrolling the area. If you have any concerns or saw anything suspicious please speak to one of these officers. We have not received any other similar reports in the area.”

The victim described the first man as:

White.

Aged in his forties.

He had short blonde hair.

He was wearing black glasses, a grey t-shirt, and black trousers.

The victim described the second man as:

White.

Aged in his forties.

He had short brown hair.

He was wearing a grey t-shirt and black trousers.
