Firefighters return to Tarvic 2 and St Moritz hotels

Isle of Wight Firefighters have been called back to the Culver Parade.

The Tarvic 2 and St Moritz fire has reignited – fire crews from Ryde and Shanklin are attending on Monday evening (September 3).

Fire tore through both hotels on Sunday (September 2) from 11am until the afternoon.

An aerial ladder platform and the command unit are attending the scene – police have closed Culver Parade.

At 7.05pm Colin Midmore, a local resident and eye witness said: “No flames, just a bit of smoke but four appliances including elevated platform plus the command unit… Although that didn’t stay long.”

Update: Crews have left the scene and Culver Parade has reopened

Around 50 Firefighters attended Sunday’s blaze, Hampshire Fire and Rescue were also on the scene along with the Ambulance Service and police.
