“The Isle of Wight Festival at 50” wins RTS Southern Award

The Isle of Wight Festival at 50 – BBC South was the winner of ‘Single Factual Entertainment Programme’ at The Royal Television Society Southern 2019 Professional Television Awards, which took place Friday 8th March in Winchester.

The one-off programme, commissioned by the BBC to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Isle of Wight Festival in 2018, aired last summer and looked back at the festival at 50 by those who were there, then and now.

Festival organiser John Giddings was presented with the award.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2019 takes place 13-16 June at Seaclose Park, headlined by Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds, George Ezra with special guest Fatboy Slim, and Biffy Clyro.
