Time is running out to nominate your sporting heroes for the 2025 Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards.
Nominations close on Thursday, October 31, for the annual celebration recognising outstanding performances and contributions across Island sport from rising young stars and senior champions to the volunteers who keep clubs running.
This year’s awards cover achievements made broadly across the 2024–25 school year and are sponsored by WRS. Organisers are encouraging nominations for athletes, teams, and the unsung heroes who dedicate time and effort behind the scenes, from coaching and transport to marking pitches and making tea.
The not-for-profit Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards Ltd is running the event this year, following its separation from the Isle of Wight Sports Foundation to comply with Charity Commission regulations.
Claire Beasley, chairman of the Awards company, said: “We have already had some fabulous, inspiring nominations but there is always room for more, so please don’t leave your sporting stars in the shadows, let them bask in the glory of potentially winning one of these prestigious awards.”
