Dear Editor,
Our supine Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, says, “We are living in a changed world”. No we are not – it’s no different than before. You only need to cast your eyes over who Donald Trump proudly paraded centre-stage during his inauguration to know who he’s really working for.
Trump’s Trade Tariffs are just the latest episode in circular events that come around every few years, designed specifically to line the pockets of multi-billionaires. In 2008 we had the banking crisis, then more recently the pandemic, during which billionaires increased their wealth by around 8 per cent, whilst everyone else became 8 per cent poorer.
Now there’s the latest pantomime, Trade Tariffs. Bankers will be cleaning up gambling on a catastrophic drop in share prices, only for the billionaires to then buy back stocks at a fraction of the price, trousering the profit in the process.
