The flower planters in St James’ Square, in Newport, are finally looking their best after work has been carried out over the past few weeks.
The weeds and overgrown plants were removed and all stonework given a thorough clean before they were planted up again this week. As many plants as possible were sorted, saved and used in the replanting scheme. The work has been carried out as a joint project with the Isle of Wight College Horticulture Department and CAR Gardens, who donated their time and expertise free of charge.
The new plants will bring a welcome splash of colour to the town centre a little later in the season.
