Ventnor District Rings celebrated the end of season with a special presentation evening, with players from the Volunteer Inn, Ventnor Rugby Club, The Blenheim and Royal British Legion involved.

Rings, a popular pub sport originating in Ireland, has had Ventnor pubs involved since the 1950s. In its heyday there were three Island divisions, including teams from Yarmouth, Lake and Freshwater. With a similar scoring format to darts, there are three legs of 201, with hooks numbered 1-15, with the highest possible score 45 (3×15), with the winner first to zero.

Planning for next season has started, with any pub teams interested in playing, at 8pm on Tuesday evenings, invited to contact Lucy Ann Berry on 07745 696916, with fun nights raising funds for local charities.
