Newchurch nursery to close as owners retire after 25 years

John and Christine

Ager Farm Nursery, in Newchurch, will close at the end of November as proprietors, Christine and John Morey, retire after 25 years of service to the Island’s gardening community.

Founded in 2005, the family-run nursery has become a popular destination for home-owners and gardening enthusiasts, known for quality plants, hanging baskets (in the high season) and Christmas wreaths. Christine and John thanked loyal customers, family, friends and local suppliers for their support over the years, with particular appreciation for their daughter, Dominique Morey, whose commitment has been indispensable for the last decade.

“It has been our privilege to serve our wonderful Island community, and we are truly grateful for the friendships, shared stories, and memories along the way,” said Christine. “Retiring and closing the nursery was not an easy choice, but we believe the time has finally come for us to enjoy a well-deserved break.”

The nursery will close on Nov 30, 2025 (9am–4pm). Clearance sales are under way and customers are invited to make a final visit and enquire in person about current offers on remaining stock.

Ager Farm Nursery is on Harbors Lake Lane, Newchurch, Sandown, PO36 0LY, and is open 9am–5pm until the closing date. For further information, contact Christine on 867607.
