James Kingswell once again swept the board in the vegetables section of the Haylands Horticultural Society Show at the Ryde United Reformed Church on Saturday.
James took top honours including best vegetable for his giant carrots as well as the best in show trophy, also for the carrots.
There were 366 exhibits from 123 exhibitors in 95 classes with entries were up by 92 on last year, largely thanks to 70 entries in two classes by pupils at Haylands Primary School.
New exhibitor, and IW Observer gardening columnist, Darren Everest, who won accolades at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show earlier in the year, took home the Dahlia Cup, Cup for Best Flower Exhibit and the New Exhibitor Cup. Ian Stock once again continued his fine form in the Chrysanthemum classes winning the Terrence Drudge Cup.
Minister of the URC IOW Group, Rev Brian Harley, presented the cups and prizes.
