Marathon in aid of the Wight Brainy Bunch

Rob and Nathan

On Sunday, April 27, Nathan Docksey and Robert Reynard will both be lining up, at the start of the London Marathon, to raise funds and awareness of Island-based charity, The Wight Brainy Bunch.

Despite being a seasoned runner, this will be Nathan’s first ever marathon, having successfully applied for the single charity entry that was awarded to them in the small charity ballot.

Undertaking a marathon is no mean feat, but Nathan is taking things a step further as he is attempting to run the 26.2 mile route in a time of under three hours.

“I’ve been given a wonderful opportunity from The Wight Brainy Bunch to run the London Marathon to help raise funds for them. It’s an honour to help raise money for their incredible cause, and spread awareness for this amazing charity, who help so many where there is a complete lack of support and funding. I will endeavour to do all I can to help get them and the families the funding needed and hit this target,” said Nathan.

Rob will be joining Nathan on the start line, having successfully secured a much-coveted ballot place in this year’s London Marathon. He is a keen fund-raiser for The Wight Brainy Bunch, attending many events and running for them regularly in the annual Great South Run in Portsmouth. This will be Rob’s second official marathon, having completed the Brighton Marathon last year in aid of Mountbatten, in memory of his uncle.
