TC’s celebrates Red Nose Day with disco, dance and drama

More than 100 members of Shanklin Voluntary Youth & Community Centre (known as TC’s) had an evening of disco, dance and drama, with the drama including 30 members watching the England v Albaniaworld cup qualifier on the big screen, with many members wearing football shirts as they took part in the evening.

The evening at TC’s continued the organisation’s traditional support of Red Nose Day.

SVYCC leader, Mark Biddlecombe, said: “It was heartening to see so many members take part, with thanks to the volunteers for making this possible, and to local police officers, Jacquie May and Ash Webb, for popping in, and supporting the vital voluntary work of the centre.”

On a sad note, SVYCC chairman, Jon Gilbey, added: “We were saddened to hear the news that Dave Wood has passed away. Dave was part of the club for so long, including taking part in carnivals, renovations and Red Nose nights of the past. So many members of the club will have fond memories of the positive difference Dave made to their lives.”
