Lifesaving equipment thrown in sea and rubbish kicked about by group of vandals

Vandals have put beach users’ and locals’ lives at risk after throwing bins and life rings into the sea in Sandown.

Sandown resident Adam Tuck, who was out for an early morning run, witnessed the five teenagers throwing the life-saving equipment into the sea and kicking the rubbish bins around near Tradewinds on Monday morning (January 14).

Adam spotted the group of youths on the Shanklin to Sandown revetment near to by The Salix on Hope Beach, throwing life rings and rubbish bins into the sea. After being confronted, the youths they ran off towards Sandown town centre.
