Landslip causes closure of Bembridge footpath

A landslip has forced the closure of a public footpath in Bembridge today (Tuesday).

The Isle of Wight Council tweeted:

“We have had to close part of the coastal footpath BB7, from the bottom of the beach access steps at the end of Swains Road, Bembridge for about 170 metres to the south-east. This is due to a landslip. During the temporary closure, the closed section can be bypassed on the beach.”
