Islanders, from the Wightlink-Wight Mountain Cycle Racing Team, travelled to the RTCC National Time Trial Circuit Championships at Goodwood on Sunday.
Kev Chant, competing in the Open TT category powering home in a time of 19m 32s, to take 6th place overall. He said after the race: “That was much better than my predicted time. I’m hoping I can pull out another good ride later this month at the National 10 on the road in Cambridgeshire.”
Nick Earley was the first U-23 rider to come home in the Road Bike category, crossing the line in a time of 23m 2s, and finishing 11th.
Ewan Cook put in a solid performance over the 10 miles, crossing the line in 22m 11s, placing him 6th in the junior category.
In the Female Road Bikes category, Charis Jones, was the 3rd fastest senior and 5th overall. She finished in 25m 25s, Kirsty Cook 32m 42s and Julie Cooper 28m 26s.
Jerry Cooper (Vet 60-64) came home in 26m 37s.
