There were poignant pre-match scenes at Bembridge and Brading, with match officials assembling players in silent memory of ex-Whitecroft & Barton and Bembridge player Graham Bast and Stan Sampson, former Brading player and much respected Island Referee, after both recently passed away.

W&B won 2-0 away at Bembridge, with a first-half goal for Harrison Taylor, with Sam Yelland adding a second after the break.

Shanklin were awarded a home win against Wootton, who have now folded following a mass exodus of players, leaving the league to reorganise the rest of the season’s fixtures.

Brading won 3-1 at home to Cowes Reserves, with the visitors scoring first and keeper George Bridi pulling off some fine saves. However, two goals from Lewis Parsons and one from Finn Smith secured the points for the Romans.

Vectis drew 3-3 at home to Northwood, with Leigh McKenzie (2) and Tom Sleight scoring for the visitors. The Vectis goals were scored by Jamie Barrett, Mark Goodwin and an own goal.

A hat-trick for yellow-carded Emerson Tattersall helped Ventnor win 5-1 at home to Binstead COB, Liam Harper and Charlie Urry added the other Ventnor goals.

Bembridge Res lost 5-2 at home to West Wight Res, after scoring first through Lewis Parker Meadows with Keir Ramage adding a first-half second. The visitors’ goals came from George Saunders, Jason Moore, Sam Oatley (2) and an assist.

Binstead Res lost 5-1 at home to W&B Res, with 3 goals for W&B’s Liam Slaven, and a goal each for Louis Biles and Robbie Taylor.

Early leaders East Cowes Sports Res won 5-2 at home to High Park Res, through a Shane Silk hat-trick, and one apiece for Danny Russell and Roland Bryan,
Osborne Coburg Res lost 1-0 at home to Shanklin Res, with Dan Drudge netting for the visitors.

 

Wessex Leagues
Cowes lost 3-0 at home to Hythe & Dibden.

Newport drew 1-1 at home to New Milton, through a Ji Nash back-post header.

East Cowes Vics won 2-1 away at 10-player Totton & Eling, with a goal in either half from Elliot Wheeler and Charlie Hart.

Fixtures
Bank Holiday weekend sees Cowes visit Bournemouth in the FA Vase. Newport play away at Cove and EC Vics home to Amesbury in Wessex Division One.
On the Island, Ventnor host Brading, Binstead are home to Bembridge, Cowes Res entertain Osborne Coburg, Shanklin play Northwood, and Vectis welcome West Wight.
