Niton Community FC celebrated the return of football to the club’s home pitch, at Springhead, Niton, with a friendly fixture with Northwood FC, following an in-club fixture and an U-15 ladies match.
The club has played matches at Nine Acres in Newport for seven years. Following extensive fund-raising, the club has secured changing rooms for home and away teams and the referee, and a refreshments cabin.
Northwood won the first team match 3-1, with Alfie Carey netting for Niton. Jared Cousins scored the Reserves goals in a match ending in an entertaining 2:2 draw.
