Fire crews mobilised to St Mary’s Hospital

A fire crew from Newport has been mobilised to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport this evening (January 14).
The single appliance was scrambled at just before 8 pm on Monday after the alarm started sounding. Staff and patients on the estate have not been evacuated.
A second appliance of retained fire fighters from Cowes have been called to support the Newport crew already in attendance.
A Spokeperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said it was a false alarm. Both appliacndd have now returned him station.
