I decided to stand for election in Newport West because I genuinely care about the community and felt strongly that I could make a positive, practical difference. Like many residents, I see both the potential of our area and the challenges we face day-to-day. Newport is the heart of the Island, and I want it to be a place where people feel proud to live, work, and spend their time.
In conversations with neighbours and local residents I kept hearing the same concerns – particularly about the state of disrepair of our roads and the need for straightforward, common-sense policies that reflect what people actually want and need. That encouraged me to step forward and be a voice for those concerns.
I am excited and honoured to have been elected, and I am currently undertaking a councillor induction programme to ensure I can represent residents effectively from the very beginning. I take this responsibility seriously and am committed to being approachable, listening carefully, and working closely with the community.
My aim is to help deliver practical improvements, support residents and businesses, and ensure Newport West and the Isle of Wight continues to thrive for everyone.
