Roll up! Roll up! Jay Miller’s Circus is back in town and offering first class entertainment for all the family.
Clown Peppi opened the show, bringing all the family together with laughs, as he and a 10-year-old birthday girl from the audience squirted water pistols at unsuspecting guests.
The next act mesmerised children and adults alike – Sebastian’s stunts on The Wheel of Death. Ringmistress Lia then introduced Yevgeniy ‘Lord of the Lasers’. Miss Paige Miller then displayed high-wire skills in ‘Beauty Above,’ with a scintillating display of acrobatics. From Cuba, Lachy showed sheer strength with their balancing act. The first half closed with Duo Vakal, leaving the audience wondering how it was possible to make so many clothes changes so quickly. It was well deserving of the standing ovation.
The second half started with an act from Ukraine called Jan Extreme BMX Trio and what a performance that was. Miss Zsofia climbed the rope to the high swing and gave a breathtaking performance of her balance and strength. Circus favourites, Yogi and Babu, showed the children how to dance and sing. Peppi then tried to ride a bike, only to find that it kept falling apart. The audience was treated to a magic performance by Novosselov, a husband and wife team. Even now, having analysed my camera footage, I cannot see how their great illusions were created. Answers on a postcard please to IW Observer.
The grand finale included all the cast members and, as they said goodbye and thank you for coming, the audience left in high spirits.
