The Big Draw Festival is the world’s largest celebration of drawing, bringing people together through the power of creativity, with this year’s theme being ‘Drawn Together’.
In the lead up to the month-long festival in October, Quay Arts in Newport will be transforming into an active, evolving art-making space this weekend that will explore fun drawing techniques, with various drop-in workshops and self-guided drawing activities to celebrate the Big Draw Festival.
Tomorrow (Saturday) there is a still life drop in with Izzy Kori from 10am – mid-day (free). Drop in portraits on glass and drawing with kitchen tools with Independent Arts (£3 suggested donation) from 1.30pm to 3pm, a free general drop-in from 2pm to 4pm and the drawing studio will be open from 9am to 5pm. There will also be a free drawing and colouring station in Newport Minster from 10am to 2pm. There will be other free or low-cost activities over Sunday and Monday.
