Fur, feathers and floral fun at Wolverton Manor

The Island’s largest garden fair returns on August 30 and 31, offering a unique chance to enjoy many of the Island’s animal attractions all in one place!

Wolverton Manor Garden Fair, renowned for its high-quality plant and gardenalia stalls, also welcomes a host of furry and feathered friends.

The ‘Hare Garden’ is a hidden gem, presenting a rare opportunity to meet the delightful West Wight Alpacas, with demonstrations from Ability Dogs 4 Young People running throughout the day.

In the Country & Moat Field, you can see SWB Falconry’s stunning birds of prey in action on both days – including a bald eagle.

Nearby, the Snostoppin’ Huskies offer little ones the chance to enjoy ‘hugging a husky’, while local obedience group, Barking Mad, hosts a fun dog show. Could your four-legged friend win ‘Handsomest Mutt’, ‘Best Bad Hair Day’, or team up with you to claim the title ‘Dog Who Looks Most Like Its Owner’? A crowd favourite, ‘Waggiest Tail’, is also up for grabs. The dog show begins each day at 3.15pm in the Country & Moat Field.

The Garden Fair is a dog-friendly event, so bring your furry companions along – just keep them on a lead. Please take extra care when entering the Hare Garden, as many local animals will be visiting.

Wolverton Manor Garden Fair offers fun and entertainment for the whole family, with live shows, historical re-enactments, children’s activities and displays. Over 180 garden and craft exhibitors will be showcasing their wares across the showground.

Advance tickets are now on sale at The Village Shop in Brighstone, Waterstone’s in Newport, and Hose Rhodes Dickson in Ryde. Advance tickets are £6 for adults; children under 14 go free.

A full itinerary and exhibitor list will be available in the IW Observer on Friday, August 29.
