The Apollo Youth Theatre is offering a unique opportunity for children, aged eight to 12, to get involved in the current production of The Jungle Book, which is being staged between October 23 and November 1, at the Apollo Theatre, in Newport.
This is a great opportunity for children to get a taste and feel the thrill of what it’s like to take part in a production in a real theatre on a real stage in front of a real audience.
Free workshops are being held on Sunday and Monday, from 10am to 4pm.
Theatre is one of those things that usually comes with huge barriers, but the ethos of the Youth Theatre is to create opportunities to break these down, attract new audiences, give children opportunities they may not otherwise have, give families shared memories, and make the child the focus for the day, in what can be busy and difficult lives.
During the workshops, children will learn acting and dancing skills, and will appear in three scenes during a public performance.
The workshops are open to all children. Sign up and give it a go, and family and friends can watch what they have achieved. It’s completely free to take part, and all costumes are provided.
To book a place on the free workshops, parents can contact Mish by WhatsApp on 07941 101339, or email apolloyouththeatre@gmail.com.
Tickets for The Jungle Book are available from the Apollo Theatre website – apollo-theatre.org.uk.
