Ryde Information and Support Service (RISS) is marking National Advice Week by highlighting the growing demand for accessible, local guidance. The Ryde Town Council service, based at Ryde Library, has expanded rapidly since launching in November 2024, and now supports more than 200 clients each month. Increasing numbers of residents from across the Island are travelling to Ryde to use the service, reflecting the rising need for clear, reliable advice.
National Advice Week celebrates organisations that help people navigate challenges and understand their options. RISS service manager, Keith Sheldrake, said, “RISS continues to develop its service to meet the needs of its clients. We have recently received a grant from Ryde Neighbourhood Board, which will enable us to gain full accreditation as an advice service.”
Island residents can drop in during RISS’s opening hours at Ryde Library, where staff offer guidance on a wide range of issues and signpost people to further help when needed.
RISS is open on Mondays from 10am to 3pm, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm, with additional sessions on the first Wednesday evening and first Saturday morning of each month.
