Woman “struck by car” during school run

A mother has been left with back injuries and bruising after being struck by a vehicle whilst walking her daughter to school.

The collision happened at around 8.20am on Tuesday morning (December 4), on Carisbrooke Road, Newport.

A spokesperson for Hampshire constabulary confirmed: “Officers received a report following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Newport.

“The vehicle did not stop following the incident.”
