Wight Wolves, women’s rugby team, are the proud owners of a new set of kit, sponsored by connector and cable manufacturers, Powersure and Triangle Cables, ready for the new season.
Captain, Clair Mumford, said: “The new kit gives us a sense of identity, really bringing our team together and empowering us to play at another level. Looking sharp and with local commitment and investment boosts our already keen passion to see ladies’ and girls’ rugby progress on the Island.”
Last season the Wolves finished third in the Hampshire Ladies’ Touch Rugby League. When that league finished, in June, the ladies kept on training and joined in with summer touch sessions and also tried beach rugby. They train at Wootton Rec on Wednesday evenings, with the clubhouse open from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Girls’ and ladies’ U-14 and up are welcome, with no experience or knowledge of the game necessary – although being prepared to have a go is a must. For more details see the Wight Wolves Women’s Rugby Facebook page or just turn up with a pair of trainers and give it a try.
