Wes Anderson tribute plays IW this weekend

Fans of film and music are in for a treat this weekend, as a unique tribute band dedicated to the soundtracks of Wes Anderson’s iconic films arrives on the Island.

The aptly-named ‘Wes Banderson’ will perform at Quay Arts, in Newport, tomorrow (Saturday) with the show starting at 7.30pm.

Known for their distinctive and nostalgic sets, Wes Banderson brings to life the quirky and atmospheric music that defines Anderson’s cinematic universe. Audiences can expect a live musical journey through the director’s films, with pieces from titles such as The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, and Fantastic Mr Fox.

The band specialises in faithful renditions of tracks from Anderson’s soundtracks, performing music by renowned composers, including Alexandre Desplat and Mark Mothersbaugh. Their performance promises to deliver a blend of whimsical charm and cinematic flair, capturing the essence of Anderson’s story-telling through sound.
