Island singer-songwriter Amy Jolliffe is putting new funding to good use this summer, as she records her next single with support from the Mike Howley Trust.
The fund, set up in memory of the late Mike Howley, former director of cultural services at the IW council offers grants of up to £1,500 to help young Island creatives pursue their ambitions.
Amy is using the award to record her next release at Empire Sound in Newport, working with producer and guitarist Dan Ashdown. The new track will follow the release of her single Love Is, which came out in February.
“I am so grateful to the Mike Howley Trust because I can finally release the songs that I spent so much time creating,” said Amy. “As an emerging artist, it’s hard to afford studio time, this wouldn’t have been possible without funding. The next single is my favourite so far and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Bobby Taylor and Matt Whillier also appear on the upcoming track, with more details due to be announced soon.
Amy recently performed in the Platform One tent at the 2025 IW Festival, and will appear at the Ventnor Fringe on Tuesday, July 22, alongside her band.
