Tim moves from the Taverners to Harvey Browns

Tim Foster

Tim Foster who, as previously reported, is leaving the Taverners in Godshill tomorrow (Saturday) is to take over running the food hall and delicatessen at Harvey Brown’s just outside Arreton.

He and his wife, Emma, made the difficult decision to step away from the 17th Century gastro pub, as their children are growing up quickly, but having forged a reputation for great food at the Taverners and, before that, the Three Bouys in Ryde, Tim is fizzing with ideas on how to build on the success of the Harvey Brown’s food experience.

“All three of our boys are now at secondary school,” he said. “In a few years they’ll be too busy to spend any time with us.

“The Taverners has been wonderful, but it is a 24/7 way of life. We’ll miss it, but I can’t wait to get to grips with this new challenge. I’ve got lots of ideas, such as introducing foraging walks, and I hope to see lots of our customers in future, as many have become great friends.”

Tim is confident the Taverners is in safe hands, as the team who currently run the Stag, in Parkhurst, will be taking it on.
