Members of Newchurch Male Voice Choir recently presented their Summer Serenade concert at St Paul’s Church in Shanklin.
Inclement weather did not prevent the audience enjoying the choir’s selection of songs themed on the sea, romance and members’ favourites, including Sailing, If we Only had Love, and 16 Tons. The audience was then enthralled by the First Act 2011 singers, who show that inclusive singing brings happiness and togetherness, with their ability to perform in public. Lucy Hinkley, with her soprano voice, gave a powerful performance, again greatly appreciated by the audience.
The retiring collection and the raffle raised £440 to be divided between St Paul’s, First Act 2011 and the Stroke Unit at St Mary’s Hospital.
