Following a successful 2023, winning Heritage Railway of the Year and welcoming a record number of visitors, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway opens again for the 2024 season on Sunday (March 24).
A visit to the award-winning IW Steam Railway will charm, engage, and captivate families and adults alike. The beautifully preserved railway creates the perfect backdrop for your special day out, and an unforgettable adventure through time. Settle back in a restored Victorian or Edwardian carriage, as your steam engine take you on a 10-mile round trip through some of the Island’s most stunning countryside.
This Easter you can visit the IW Railway for their Great Railway Easter Hunt. Make some amazing, amusing family memories together as you search for the giant eggs hidden around the entire attraction and solve the clues to claim your chocolate. There will be a hunt every day throughout the Easter holidays from Good Friday (March 29) to Friday, April 12. If you are visiting over the Easter weekend, help your little ones to make their own Easter bonnet before your visit, ready for judging in a parade at 1.30pm.
