Dear Editor,
I read the other day that thousands of people are claiming benefits for mental disorders. I can’t say I’m surprised. Three-quarters of the population are questioning their sanity for voting this useless Labour Party into power just over a year ago. Every day you read about something that makes you mad – other days you are just infuriated.
One example is Starmer’s decision to consider a ruling from a Northern Ireland judge that we should prosecute SAS veterans who killed four IRA gunmen 50 years ago. Starmer should have told him to get lost. Things like this make my blood boil.
The main news at the moment is about U-turns on winter fuel and benefits. It was totally irresponsible of the Tories to dish out Winter Fuel Allowance to all pensioners. Reeves was doing the right thing in trying to cut this lavish spending of taxpayers’ cash. By forcing her into a U-turn, the rebels have just proved this weak government is simply not fit for purpose.
On benefits, nobody mentioned the Motability scheme, whereby a claimant can be provided with a new car every three years – not just a Mini or a Ford; they can choose a Range Rover or a BMW. Road tax, insurance and maintenance are all paid for by us long-suffering taxpayers.
As I said, every day you read something that drives you completely bonkers!
