Shanklin in Bloom prizes are handed out

The Shanklin in Bloom winners received their prizes from town mayor, Sara Sheath, at a presentation at Shanklin British Legion last week.

There were five categories. The winners in each were: Pubs, Cafés and Shops – Old Thatched Tea Shop (prize collected by Patricia Whybrow), Front Gardens – The Garden House in Westhill Road (Jane Cross), Wildlife Friendly – Rylstone Tea Gardens (Bob Jackson), Pots and Hanging Baskets – No 2 Victoria Avenue (Ray Ridett), Community Gardens – Green Towns (Sue Godden).

Rylstone Tea Gardens and Crazy Golf also won a special award, the Busy Bee Cup for best Garden for Sustaining the Environment.
