By Isle of Wight ObserverPrincess Anne visited the RNLI station in Cowes on Monday (August 6).
A spokesman for Cowes RNLI said: “We hosted HRH The Princess Royal today. She took time to chat happily in a very relaxed way as we in turn presented her to; the crew; the RNLI staff present to allow us to open the Station, listened to a presentation on the modernisation of our call-out system and met our visits and education team.
“As a keen sailor and Master of Trinity House she displayed a lot of nautical knowledge and asked good questions.
“An enjoyable 25 minutes in Cowes Week.”
