The Isle of Wight ‘Wightlink’ Warriors speedway team have announced that they have secured the services of Ryan Terry-Daley to bolster the middle order of their 2019 side.

London born, but raised in New Zealand, twenty four year old Ryan has been a familiar face at the Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium regularly appearing in open meetings as well as proving to be a reliable scorer when representing his league teams. Indeed, his end of season form for Plymouth had many pundits inking his name into the Devils 2019 roster, but when it became apparent that there was an opportunity to bring him to the Island, the Warriors management stepped in and quickly tied up arrangements.

Terry-Daley is currently enjoying a successful racing stint Down Under and will join the Warriors on a 5.22 match average. He is due back in the UK at the end of February giving himself plenty of time to build up his equipment for the new challenge ahead. Speaking from Auckland, he said “Everyone knows the Isle of Wight have developed one of the best promotions in British speedway and the chance to work in that environment was too good to miss. The big track is fine by me, I enjoy racing there, the people are great and I’m looking forward to hooking up with everyone when I get back”.

Warriors co-promoter Barry Bishop, clearly pleased with his latest signing, said, “I’ve got to know Ryan over the past couple of years and he has always been very willing to come over to the Island for our fixtures. When we found out that he would not be required at Plymouth we spoke to him and he confirmed that he would be keen to join us. It means we will have another solid and experienced middle order man who has the ability to improve his average. He will fit in well with our club ambitions and is sure to get a great reception from our supporters”.
