Road in lock down following Police search

Police were called to Brownlow Road in Lake earlier this evening (Sunday,) where they conducted a search of the local area.

Officers descended on the quiet residential street off Lake Hill at around 4.30 pm following an emergency call shortly after 4 pm

Local residents have reported seeing a number of Police vehicles and officers carrying out a search in rear gardens.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said:”Officers carrying out enquiries relating to an ongoing investigation into an assault and criminal damage attended an address on Talbot Road in Lake on Sunday 6 January at around 4:30pm.

A 24-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of obstructing or resisting an officer in the execution of their duty. He was later charged with the same offence.

Benjamin George Buckingham of Sunnyside Gardens in Lake has been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on February 5.
