Outgoing High Sheriff Jacque Gazzard thanks supporters at Bembridge celebration

Ann Springman with Jaque Gazzard

The Island’s outgoing High Sheriff, Jacque Gazzard, held a private celebration on Friday to thank those who supported her throughout her term of office. The afternoon tea gathering took place in glorious spring weather in the Bembridge garden of Anne Springman, herself a former High Sheriff.

Guests enjoyed a selection of delicious cakes, the beautifully kept garden – looking at its best in the bright spring sunshine – and the opportunity to mingle and chat in a relaxed setting.

During the event, the High Sheriff took the opportunity to present the final High Sheriff’s award of her year in office. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who had assisted her during her term, and offered her best wishes to the incoming High Sheriff, Nigel Hartley. She also raised a smile by joking that she would not miss the feathers on her ceremonial hat, which had accompanied her through all manner of weather at the many events she attended over the past year.
