As the festival and summer season approaches, islanders, particularly the younger generation, are reminded of the peril of taking substances that may be offered to them, and the danger of drinking alcohol to excess.
You only have to think back to the recent Mutiny Festival when sadly 2 young people died.
Our ambulance and A & E staff are always under pressure dealing with emergencies, and incidents resulting in the use of unknown substances and alcohol only adds to this pressure.
