Newport assault sees four arrested

Four men have been arrested in connection with an assault in Newport. 

At around 4pm on Thursday (October 11) officers responded to a report that a 25-year-old man had been assaulted in Bowling Green Lane.

The victim also had his mobile phone stolen, and was taken to hospital with an injury to his head, but has since been sent home.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said that four men aged 21, 22, 31, and 37 have been arrested and remain in custody at this time.
