Newport Minster’s parish centre, in Town Lane, will become The Hope Centre on Tuesday (November 3), providing a new home for Revive Newport’s youth café.

The youth organisation has outgrown its community hub at Castlehold Baptist Church, and will now have larger premises to accommodate its growing membership of young people, from Newport and beyond.

Supported by local churches, individual donors, and grant funding, Revive also carries out youth work in areas affected by anti-social behaviour.
As the lead occupier of The Hope Centre, Revive will work alongside other organisations, including Aspire’s Creative Hub, and a new inclusive orchestra project.
Revive director, Pete Luther, said: “Having a larger space means we can not only accommodate the current membership but also more young people, and also offer more sessions each week.

“Our young people need somewhere they can feel safe, accepted, and listened to, and this new partnership gives us the opportunity to build on what we have been doing in Newport over the last 15 years.”

Rev Chris Bradish, team rector for Newport, Carisbrooke, and Gatcombe, said: “The Minster and wider parish have a heart to see young people in our town and Island thrive. We are excited to be growing a new partnership with Revive Newport and others.”

Working with existing and new partners, Revive aims to provide educational opportunities, mental wellbeing support, and help with building friendships, encouraging young people to make positive choices and reach their full potential.
